STEM-designated degree programs in business
ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business is one of the best business schools in the world, welcoming more than 20,000 students from over 100 countries. With more than 60 ways to earn a W. P. Carey degree — including a range of STEM-designated programs — we’re preparing the leaders of tomorrow for wherever their careers take them. The U.S. government recognizes several of our undergraduate and graduate degree programs with STEM designations, equipping graduates with the technical and business knowledge needed to pursue well-compensated and in-demand careers worldwide.
Depending on the degree you select, STEM-designated programs give eligible W. P. Carey graduates on F-1 student visas access to a STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension for up to 36 months. The STEM OPT offers significant benefits and may help international students land jobs stateside to gain additional skills and experience in the United States. Unlike the H-1B work visa, OPT visa rules for employers are less stringent. Employers are more likely to hire OPT graduates, especially those with an additional 24-month STEM OPT. Welcome! We’re glad you’re here.
STEM business undergraduate degrees
W. P. Carey undergraduate students come from all over the world and are prepared for careers with global impact — no matter which path they choose. We provide direct admission for STEM-designated undergraduate business degree programs, allowing students to customize their education and timeline.
Our STEM-designated degree program list promotes well-rounded, analytical thinking. As employers rely more on analytics, they want business graduates who can make data-driven decisions. The Occupational Information Network (O*NET) reports bright employment outlooks for these undergraduate degree programs, with global companies seeking technically skilled STEM business majors to tackle complex problems. W. P. Carey degrees equip students with practical, in-demand skills such as AI, Excel, Python, Tableau, data visualization, and data modeling. As a result, our graduates possess strong quantitative skills and transferable knowledge that can apply to various organizational roles, including analyst positions.
A STEM OPT extension only applies to students on an F-1 visa and does not apply to students completing their degree through ASU Online.
