Advancement at W. P. Carey
Transform the world with us
The Office of Advancement at ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business connects our alumni, donors, corporate partners, and friends with opportunities to change lives, support inclusive excellence, and make a lasting impact around the world. Whether through scholarships that open doors for more students, funding for innovative research that solves real-world challenges, or alumni programs that spark lifelong connections, advancement at W. P. Carey means transforming possibilities into realities. Our work is rooted in the ASU Charter and the W. P. Carey strategic plan.

“I hope to continue to give back to ASU and W. P. Carey. I want my legacy to be a net gain for others. I appreciate the vision of educating the broader population, and being inclusive. I think it brings us all together.”
Seth Crawford (BS Marketing ’94, MS Agribusiness ’97)
Changing Futures — from Arizona and for the world.
At the W. P. Carey School of Business, we embrace the positive power of industry in our relentless pursuit to transform the world through access, excellence and innovation in business knowledge. Through Changing Futures, we will show the world that business is a powerful tool for innovation, an engine of inclusive opportunity, and a force for good in the world.
Together, we can fundamentally change how education is delivered, creating a world where no one is excluded, bringing educational opportunities to learners in Arizona and across the globe.
Preparing global leaders through study abroad
In today’s interconnected world, students need global experiences to be successful in international business. Our global education initiative addresses this challenge by partnering with universities to offer study abroad programs in a dozen countries and providing degree opportunities in many more. Through Changing Futures, we’ll work to prepare the largest cohort of globally minded business leaders in the U.S.
Together, we can deliver bold, comprehensive solutions that ensure a habitable Earth and a future in which well-being is attainable for all humankind.
Insights, tools, and practices for societal impact
In a world where traditional investing and corporate governance have not yet been fully optimized, we’re taking bold action to achieve positive societal impact through several strategic initiatives, including the Center for Responsible Investing, a New Governance Lab, and a financial literacy program targeting secondary education and high school students. By empowering investors with essential tools for responsible decision-making and reimagining corporate governance to create value for all stakeholders, we will become a national leader for societal impact insights, tools and practices.
Together, we can leverage the resources, ideas and partnerships that make our communities better, stronger and healthier.
Reimagining real estate education
Arizona is both a laboratory and an exceptional proving ground for aspiring real estate leaders, but those individuals need more comprehensive education that balances business acumen with social responsibility. The W. P. Carey Center for the Study of Real Estate and Finance will position ASU as the leading authority in real estate education in the Southwest and across the nation.
Together, we can scale up innovative technologies and comprehensive approaches while empowering exceptional practitioners — and ensuring that every person has equitable access, a high quality of life and confidence in their health and well-being.
Building supply chain futures
The COVID-19 pandemic exposed critical vulnerabilities in global supply chains, highlighting the urgent need for improved resilience across all sectors of society. The W. P. Carey Department of Supply Chain Management’s vision is to become the world’s supply chain university. Our supply chain futures initiative will be a hub of research, educational programs and best practices to prepare businesses, government and society for the next crisis that will disrupt supply chains.
Together, we can empower the dreamers, visionaries and revolutionary leaders chasing solutions to the world’s most pressing problems — and imagining possibilities yet to be discovered.
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Entrepreneurship education develops innovative leaders, yet many students lack access to opportunities. Our entrepreneurship and innovation initiative merges academia with industry to prepare future pioneers through real-world experiences.
Finance and inclusion
Nearly half of American adults face financial illiteracy. Our finance and inclusion initiative empowers individuals to secure financial futures and pursue finance careers. Future plans include expansion of ASU’s introductory financial literacy course to low-income high schools and educator certificates in investment and risk management.
Faculty support
Through investment in endowed faculty positions, we can promote rigorous research and teaching and learning at W. P. Carey, fostering an elite global business program for all students and faculty.
Together, we can make great technological strides in all we do — and leverage them for a more equitable future for all.
Shaping the future with mindful AI
As augmented intelligence rapidly transforms our world, it brings both incredible opportunities and potential risks to society. The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) for Business and Society is pioneering "mindful AI," which promotes a deep understanding of the purpose, use and development of AI. Through research, education and real-world solutions, we’re ensuring that AI enhances lives and shapes a sustainable future for generations to come.
